POGO Casting was founded by Karen Maseng, who began her career in Los Angeles as an actress. She met Melissa Martin on the set of a commercial they were both cast in. Neither one realized that this was the beginning of a very fruitful collaboration that would last for many wonderful years. Melissa went on to become one of LA's top commercial casting directors (Martin Casting), while Karen's love of the acting process led her to running camera and directing the casting sessions. They soon discovered that they shared an affinity for interesting faces, strong actors and a very warped sense of humor. This helped them as they worked on such projects as Macy Gray’s “Sexual Revolution” directed by Dayton/Faris ('Little Miss Sunshine'), the intense Montana Meth PSA's directed by Alejandro Inarritu ('Babel') and Michel Gondry's ever inventive commercials to name just a few. |
